A Silver Lining Since 1987

On May 9, 1987, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®, Omicron Epsilon Chapter was chartered on the campus of Elon College. The thirteen young ladies who worked strenuously to establish the presence of Omicron Epsilon at the college created a lasting impression on the campus’s Greek community. Omicron Epsilon has celebrated thirty-five years of continuous service and dedicated excellence. Its significant contributions to campus life have transcended internal and external expectations and have reaffirmed Omicron Epsilon’s leading role at Elon as an organization that promotes sisterhood, scholarship, and service.

Since its charter, the elegant ladies of Omicron Epsilon solidified their presence on campus as a chapter, as well as individuals who exemplified well-balanced women in their studies and involvement in activities on campus.  From varsity sport athletes on the basketball and softball teams to broadcast news anchors and school newspaper editors, the ladies of Omicron Epsilon have emerged as campus trailblazers. Their presence at the forefront of campus activities brought a lasting positive reputation to the chapter, as well as to the Elon community.

The positivity of the members of the Omicron Epsilon Chapter has also contributed to the strong sense of tradition within the chapter. From initiation to graduation and post-graduate affairs, the sisters have developed a strong sense of tradition and well-mended relationships between undergraduate and alumnae members.
